Today we went to Las Perlas (the Pearls) Island in Panama. We snorkeled and saw huge ground rays. The biggest one was about 5 feet wide with a 7 foot tail. It was unreal. We were 15 feet above them (but that seemed a little too close. Two of them raised their tails towards me when they felt threatened). They are amazing animals!
After this we swam to the beach. This turned out to be a naked beach, but luckily there were only a couple of other people there. The beach was gorgeous. Steep rocks shot up along each side of the cove forming cliffs. Sitting on top of the cliffs were trees filled with pink flowers. You could also see tree roots reaching out across the face of the cliffs. As you followed the rocks down, you could see a long white beach with tree branches reaching out over it. Logan and I had a wet sand fight while Joe and Dillon built a raft out of tree branches and rope they found on the beach. By the time we got home, we were exhausted.
