Joe had an interesting experience today.  He was fishing with my dad (Brett), and he caught a pelican!  They had taken the small boat through a patch where thousands of birds were diving.  Joe thought he had caught a fish, until he noticed a pelican flopping in the water which came closer and closer as he reeled in his line.  He reeled the pelican in all the way and my dad grabbed its beak with his hand.  With his other had he carefully pulled the hook out of its wing, and saved the bird.  What a crazy life.  

While they were busy doing this, Bayleigh, Logan, Sarah and I were tidepooling.  We were able to pet sea hares (turquoise sea slugs with little bunny ears), crabs, fish, and sea urchins.  We also found some cool shells.
